Casey’s Responsibility

It is the responsibility of our operator to ensure that the Furniture hoist is installed correctly in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. The operator must ensure the hoist can operate safely within the safe working load of the elevator/hoist. We reserve the right to refrain from installing the elevator/hoist if it is deemed to be unsafe to do so by our operator. The operator reserves the right to declare a particular load or item as unsafe to travel on the elevator/hoist.

Your Responsibility

We cannot be held responsible for any damage incurred to items sent on the elevator unless it is caused by the failure of the elevator itself or negligence on the part of the Casey’s operator.

We cannot be held responsible for any consequential damage caused by the on/off loading of the platform at working level, or on its descent. It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure the suitability of any balcony or building to support the elevator and that there is a clear and stable area directly below and in line with the window/entrance point for the elevator to stand and be installed, prior to arrival. It is the responsibility of the hirer to measure and make sure that the items can be safely moved through the access point.

Location, Position and Hoist Safety

We will endeavour to advise as to the suitability and required position of the elevator by the potential hirer. For this purpose, the hirer is advised to provide pictures of the surrounds and entry points. We will also use google maps to advise.

Where we cannot advise of a job’s suitability from pictures/maps we can offer a site visit service to advise as to whether a job is possible. This is a free of charge service providing the visit can be fitted in around the existing job schedule

Do You Have Parking Restrictions?

Where the elevator is required to be positioned in areas where there are parking restrictions it is the Hirer’s responsibility to arrange for the relevant permission required from the authorities
concerned. The permission may be granted in the form of a dispensation or suspension order, or possibly a partial road closure – depending on the location concerned. It should be taken into account that in some situations the above orders can apply to both sides of a public highway to allow the traffic to flow freely and enable the operation to be carried out safely.

When booking Parking Suspension our equipment is mounted a small truck (Luton size). It is not a crane. We recommend two parking bays – directly below the window or balcony to be suspended. Any penalties incurred by Casey’s Hoist Hire as a result of parking arrangements/obligations being neglected will be passed onto the hirer.

Delays

Whilst every effort is made to adhere to the requested start time, we cannot be held responsible for delays occasioned by traffic problems, previous job overruns or any circumstances beyond our control.

Loading/Unloading/Lifting

Casey’s provide the service of the elevator complete with operator.

The provision of the labour force to load/off load the elevator is the responsibility of the hirer. Where additional manpower is required, we can provide a quotation upon request.

The maximum load of 400kg, depending on height, and the maximum height is 24 metres.
